Dawson Spotlight: Torry Martin
Have you met Mr. Torry Martin yet? Torry grew up in Dallas, Texas, and Tuscon, Arizona. He received his bachelor's degree from Northern Arizona University and previously worked for Las Vegas Sands Corp. He joined the Dawson team in the spring of 2022 and is currently the Senior Director of Safety & Security. You can learn more about him in this edition of the #DawsonSpotlight.
How long have you worked at Dawson?
Almost one year!
What inspired you to work in the Security team at Dawson?
The inspiration came from a gala I was working security at. I had the opportunity to meet (former Board Chair) Mr. Oz Gutsche years ago and he invited me to take a tour of the school. During that visit I was super impressed by what I saw and wanted to be a part of this fantastic community.
What’s your favorite thing about working at Dawson?
My favorite thing about Dawson is the genuine concern and welcoming attitude of all staff and faculty.
What is one thing about you that would surprise students?
One thing that would surprise them is I’m a certified Scuba Diver.
What does our throughline, Level Up, mean to you?
The throughline Level Up in my opinion means, that we strive for excellence in ALL we do or aspire to do!
What are you most proud of?
What I am most proud of are my kids! I am truly blessed!
Do you have any career highlights that you’d like to note and share with our community?
A few highlights in my career involve working private security at two super bowls and being able to travel the world to different places protecting executives and their families!
