  • Full-Range of Benefits

    We offer a full range of benefits to employees via two HMO medical plans and one PPO medical plan. Options include:

    Employees who waive medical benefits are entitled to receive $900 per year. This benefit is subject to proof of other insurance.
  • Professional Development

    On average, Dawson invests $160,000 annually toward professional development opportunities for employees.

    Dawson offers a professional development program that encourages employees to invest in educational best practices, advances in technology, and relevant world development. Opportunities include traveling to national conferences, attending regional workshops, and in-house training with industry professionals. These impactful opportunities allow our teachers to provide a transformative education that engages students in curious, creative, and collaborative thinking and learning.
  • Retirement Plan

    Alexander Dawson offers a retirement plan through TIAA/CREF. Employees may contribute within 30 days of your start date. The School’s contributions include:
    • 3% hire date through 5 years of service
    • 5% after five years, through 10 years of service
    • 7.5% after 10 years of service
  • Mentoring Program

    Alexander Dawson provides a comprehensive onboarding experience to welcome all new hires to our community. This includes a week-long workshop in July, an assigned mentor who partners with you and provides encouragement during your first year, and quarterly collaboration sessions with various administrators for training and continuing education. 
  • Tuition Assistance & Child Services

    Faculty and staff who enroll their children at Alexander Dawson are eligible for:
    • Needs-based tuition remission each school year
    • Free used uniforms
    • A discount on after-school enrichment courses
    • Free before- and after-care
    • Free childcare during Teacher Academy and in-service days.

    Our beautiful campus is located in the planned community of Summerlin, just outside the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. Less than 30 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, Summerlin is ideal for those who love the outdoors. Our climate is envied by many and the area boasts abundant opportunities for family fun and recreation. Popular activities include hiking, biking, and golf, along with 250 parks to enjoy. 

    Las Vegas is a diverse, metropolitan city that offers residents everything from the great outdoors and fun professional sporting events to incredible dining, shopping, and exciting entertainment options.

    ​Our incredible campus boasts 33 acres of beautiful desert landscape. We strive to preserve our unique buildings and grounds for both the current and future generations of students. In addition to our 2,200-square-foot Organic Garden and outdoor learning space, we have a state-of-the-art K-4 Design Lab, 4 incredible playgrounds, athletic fields, and a collaborative workspace designed for faculty and staff.  
  • Wellness Benefit

    We believe in prioritizing the self-care, health, and wellbeing of all of our employees. Alexander Dawson offers a wellness reimbursement program of up to $100 toward either the monthly premium payment for health insurance through Dawson OR activities such as fitness and yoga classes, therapeutic massages, sports and recreation, wellness education, and gym visits.
  • Holidays

    All employees receive time off for all federal holidays. Paid holiday periods for Staff include partial school breaks. Faculty receive time off during the summer months. For full-time employees, vacation is awarded based on years of service. 
  • Lunch+

    Alexander Dawson partners with SAGE Dining Services for an on-campus food program that meets our entire community’s culinary, nutritional, and social needs. All employees receive complimentary coffee and light snacks in the morning and lunch during the school day. Lunch options include hot entrees and sides, soup, a salad bar, and sandwiches. 
  • Safety & Security

    The safety of every community member – from physical protection to mental/emotional health and wellness to cyber security efforts – is our first priority and number one responsibility. Dawson is a gated campus with 24-hour, on-site security. Our guards are a welcome and familiar presence across campus.

We aspire to positively impact our school, local community, and the world. One of the ways that Dawson employees bring our Core Value of Advocacy to life is through serving the Las Vegas community together.

Initiatives during the 2023-2024 school year include Three Square, Just One Project, Candlelighters, Project 150, Foster Kinship, Delivering with Dignity, and Relay for Life of Southern Nevada.

The Alexander Dawson School

The Alexander Dawson School at Rainbow Mountain, an independent school located on 33-acres in the community of Summerlin, is Nevada’s first Stanford University Challenge Success partner school for students in early childhood through grade eight. Utilizing the unique Challenge Success framework, Dawson uses research-based strategies and programs that emphasize student academics, wellbeing, and a healthy school-life balance to create more engaged, motivated, and resilient learners and leaders. At Dawson, students achieve their individual potential while savoring life and meeting the challenges of the world.
