Alexander Dawson provides a comprehensive onboarding experience to welcome all new hires to our community. This includes a week-long workshop in July, an assigned mentor who partners with you and provides encouragement during your first year, and quarterly collaboration sessions with various administrators for training and continuing education.

Our beautiful campus is located in the planned community of Summerlin, just outside the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. Less than 30 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, Summerlin is ideal for those who love the outdoors. Our incredible campus boasts 33 acres of beautiful desert landscape. We strive to preserve our unique buildings and grounds for both the current and future generations of students. In addition to our 2,200-square-foot Organic Garden and outdoor learning space, we have a state-of-the-art K-4 Design Lab, 4 incredible playgrounds, athletic fields, and a collaborative workspace designed for faculty and staff.
We believe in prioritizing the self-care, health, and wellbeing of all of our employees. Alexander Dawson offers a wellness reimbursement program of up to $100 toward either the monthly premium payment for health insurance through Dawson OR activities such as fitness and yoga classes, therapeutic massages, sports and recreation, wellness education, and gym visits.
All employees receive time off for all federal holidays. Paid holiday periods for Staff include partial school breaks. Faculty receive time off during the summer months. For full-time employees, vacation is awarded based on years of service.
Alexander Dawson partners with SAGE Dining Services for an on-campus food program that meets our entire community’s culinary, nutritional, and social needs. All employees receive complimentary coffee and light snacks in the morning and lunch during the school day. Lunch options include hot entrees and sides, soup, a salad bar, and sandwiches.
The safety of every community member – from physical protection to mental/emotional health and wellness to cyber security efforts – is our first priority and number one responsibility. Dawson is a gated campus with 24-hour, on-site security. Our guards are a welcome and familiar presence across campus.

The Alexander Dawson School at Rainbow Mountain, an independent school located on 33-acres in the community of Summerlin, is Nevada’s first Stanford University Challenge Success partner school for students in early childhood through grade eight. Utilizing the unique Challenge Success framework, Dawson uses research-based strategies and programs that emphasize student academics, wellbeing, and a healthy school-life balance to create more engaged, motivated, and resilient learners and leaders.
