Kai has been a mathematics teacher in independent schools for more than 26 years. He joined the staff at Dawson in 2001 after teaching junior high and high school mathematics in the U.S. Virgin Islands and northern Michigan. Kai has had great success teaching all levels of mathematics from grade four through grade 12, but he has also found the time to be an office manager for a construction company, lead educational software testing, run a computer consulting firm, and program accounting software. His years of experience teaching high school mathematics, and his diverse work experience, help him to better prepare Dawson middle school students for various academic challenges. When Kai is not teaching or tutoring students, he enjoys playing tennis, cooking Italian and Caribbean foods, and defeating his opponents in backgammon.
