Who were the Dawson teachers that impacted your education/life the most?
I have no idea where I'd be without the efforts Chris Estrella and Kristi Griffith poured into me while I was at Dawson. They taught me poise.

What skills and competencies did you learn at Dawson that you continue to use today?
Dawson taught me all I know about being a leader. At Dawson, I learned the value of discovering, harnessing, and embracing my own eccentricities & employing them as leadership tools. Young kids are under immense pressure to temper their passions to fit in. Shirking that pressure and standing out has made all the difference for me.

How did Dawson prepare you for high school, college, and beyond?
Dawson places an emphasis on collaboration and teamwork, both inside and outside of the classroom. Students complete group projects and team-building activities on a daily basis. Knowing how to efficiently allocate work in a team is critically important in higher education & beyond, and, thanks to Dawson, I never had to learn "on the job."

Can you share 1-2 academic or professional highlights that you’re proud of?
I'm lucky that I get to attend such a wonderful law school, and I'm thankful for having received offers to start my career at some of the world's greatest law firms.

Why did you decide to be part of the Dawson Alumni Council?
I believe that investing early in the success of all types of students - the studious types, the athletes, the artists, the class clowns, the introverts, the extroverts - is a necessity. That, to me, is Dawson's greatest strength. I want to be part of the reason why students from all walks of life, with diverse interests and backgrounds, continue to choose Dawson as their home.

Any advice for current Dawson students?
Make tons of mistakes and learn tons of lessons. Trying and failing always feels better than failing having not tried at all.

The Alexander Dawson School at Rainbow Mountain, an independent school located on 33-acres in the community of Summerlin, is Nevada’s first Stanford University Challenge Success partner school for students in early childhood through grade eight.
