Jennifer Dermer was born and raised in northeastern Ohio. After graduating from Kent State University with a B.S in Elementary Education, she moved to Las Vegas. She went on to earn an M.Ed. in Instructional and Curricular Studies - Reading from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Recently, she retired from the Clark County School District after 29 years of teaching and instructional coaching. In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family, shopping, and traveling.

The Alexander Dawson School

The Alexander Dawson School at Rainbow Mountain, an independent school located on 33-acres in the community of Summerlin, is Nevada’s first Stanford University Challenge Success partner school for students in early childhood through grade eight. Utilizing the unique Challenge Success framework, Dawson uses research-based strategies and programs that emphasize student academics, wellbeing, and a healthy school-life balance to create more engaged, motivated, and resilient learners and leaders.
