Originally from Youngstown, Ohio, Le'Aqua joined the Dawson team as a fourth-grade teacher in the fall of 2015, then transitioned to the middle school's English/Humanities department in 2018. She relocated to Las Vegas from Atlanta, Georgia, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature and Creative Writing from Agnes Scott College, and later her Master of Education degree in curriculum, instruction and assessment from Strayer University. While in Atlanta, Le'Aqua taught high school English/Language Arts for five years. Prior to that, she founded a homeschool and enrichment program, offering educational services to homeschooled as well as traditional-schooled students for 10 years. Le'Aqua enjoys writing, traveling and spending quality time with her three children.
