NASA Astronaut Steven L. Smith to Visit Dawson

NASA Astronaut Steven L. Smith

Our students are ready for an out-of-this-world experience when NASA Astronaut Steven L. Smith visits Dawson! Mr. Smith joined NASA in 1989 and is a veteran of four space flights covering 16 million miles, and seven space walks totaling 49 hours and 25 minutes. He currently works as Associate Director for International Space Station Science Directorate at NASA's Ames Research Center in Silicon Valley, California.

Mr. Smith will share with our students the determination, focus, resilience and goal-setting he has shown throughout life on the way to becoming a NASA astronaut. He'll speak with our 5th and 6th-grade students on Tuesday, January 24 at 2:25 p.m. in the Forman Music Building Multi-Purpose Room. #DawsonDifference
