Teacher Spotlight: Rita Marie Bioni

Have you met Ms. Rita Marie Bioni yet? Ms. Bioni is originally from California and has a degree in dramatic arts from San Diego State University. She is currently an assistant teacher in kindergarten and you can learn more about her in this edition of #DawsonTeacherSpotlight!
How long have you been a teacher?
I started working at the Alexander Dawson School in August of 2003. This is my 17th year here and I still love what I do. I have been fortunate to work in grades K-2.

What’s your favorite thing about teaching at Dawson?
I love the a-ha moments you get when you are working with a child and it suddenly clicks for them. The light goes on and you know, they’ve got it. Their joy is contagious.

What is your biggest goal for this school year?
We are really enjoying using the various technology pieces that our school has in the classroom. It is one of the students’ favorite choices in S.T.E.A.M. I get to learn and enjoy technology with them. My goal is for that to continue. I

What is your favorite thing to do when you aren’t working?
I love to spend time with my family. We enjoy wine tasting in California and mini trips to the Valley of Fire. We also enjoy the beaches in San Diego.

What are you most proud of?
My husband and I have three children, all of whom attended Dawson. They are kind, bright, creative and compassionate. We are very proud of them.
