Herma is a 33-year senior teacher from the Netherlands, who has been teaching at Dawson since 2003. She attended the Katholieke PABO in The Hague, Netherlands, a four-year teacher training school among the best educational institutes of the Netherlands. Herma began her career in public education, teaching first and second grades for 15 years at a school in a deprived area of The Hague. After moving to Las Vegas in 2003, she began substitute teaching at Dawson and was asked to become the Lower School science teacher. In her free time, Herma enjoys traveling around the world and seeing new cultures and animals.

The Alexander Dawson School

The Alexander Dawson School at Rainbow Mountain, an independent school located on 33-acres in the community of Summerlin, is Nevada’s first Stanford University Challenge Success partner school for students in early childhood through grade eight.
