Born in Mexico, Isis Lopez moved to Carson City, Nevada, at the age of six. In 2004, she left her career in travel and tourism and moved to Las Vegas to pursue her life long dream to become an educator. She attended Nevada State College and received her BA with honors in elementary education with a concentration in bilingual education. She graduated with her M.Ed. in education leadership from Concordia University. Previously, she taught at a charter school for eight years. Ms. Lopez joined our Dawson community two years ago and has been an active member in helping students develop the skills that will ensure a strong educational foundation while preparing them to be lifelong learners. Mrs. Lopez’s love for learning was evident last year when she participated in a yearlong grant through UNLV on Cognitive Guided Instruction and attended the CGI conference in Seattle this summer.

She is married with two children, ages 19 and 22. She is a lover of the vintage/retro style and enjoys trying out different hairstyles and outfits. During the summer months, she often travels to visit family and friends making sure to stop by National Parks along the way.
