Born and raised in Southern California, I am a product of my environment. Working with children from the Long Beach Unified School District for 8 years as a specialty teacher, my focus was in literacy and mathematics, attempting to ensure progress and grade level appropriate capabilities by the end of the year. Having much success in this area, I was able to collaborate with administration and district employees to discuss how to help struggling learners more effectively.

Through my experiences training other educators and being part of the State Superintendent’s conversation regarding growth and development based on test scores, I have invested much of my time and energy into guiding all participants through the learning process. My pedagogy involves a balanced, differentiated approach, whereby the individual needs come first. I have always been exceedingly passionate about my job, simply hoping to improve my abilities to educate an even larger audience. I will always be a lifelong learner.
