Rachael graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Communications, and a Master of Arts in Journalism and Media Studies. Before joining Dawson in 2015, Rachael worked at two local television news stations creating website content and as an academic counselor to college students. Passionate about telling the Dawson story, she is the editor-in-chief of Dawson's school magazine, the Petroglyph, and frequently contributes to Dawson's Education Blog. Rachael has been published professionally in the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) Independent School magazine and academically by Lambert Academic Publishing. She is thrilled to serve as a judge for the InspirED School Marketers Brilliance Awards, which celebrates private school marketing and communications worldwide, and she has won two Bronze Brilliance Awards for blogs written for Dawson. She is also honored to serve as a judge for the Circle of Excellence Awards for the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), which showcases outstanding work in advancement services, alumni relations, communications, fundraising, and marketing. In her free time, Rachael enjoys unwinding with a great television show, reading, traveling, and spending time with her husband and three sons, who are also Alexander Dawson School students.

The Alexander Dawson School

The Alexander Dawson School at Rainbow Mountain, an independent school located on 33-acres in the community of Summerlin, is Nevada’s first Stanford University Challenge Success partner school for students in early childhood through grade eight. Utilizing the unique Challenge Success framework, Dawson uses research-based strategies and programs that emphasize student academics, wellbeing, and a healthy school-life balance to create more engaged, motivated, and resilient learners and leaders.
