Torry was born in Dallas, Texas, and moved to Tucson, Arizona at the age of 9. Torry attended Northern Arizona University where he earned a degree in liberal studies with an emphasis in social sciences. His previous work experience includes the Maricopa County Sherriff’s Department, executive protection agent for Las Vegas Sands Corp., and co-founder of a private, elite security firm. Torry has several years of experience working with students, including serving in various roles at the Arizona Boys Ranch and as a school leader at a high school in Phoenix. As a long-time resident of Arizona, his favorite hobbies include hiking, water skiing, and other activities involving nature. His true love from the beginning of his life has always been music and sports.

The Alexander Dawson School

The Alexander Dawson School at Rainbow Mountain, an independent school located on 33-acres in the community of Summerlin, is Nevada’s first Stanford University Challenge Success partner school for students in early childhood through grade eight. Utilizing the unique Challenge Success framework, Dawson uses research-based strategies and programs that emphasize student academics, wellbeing, and a healthy school-life balance to create more engaged, motivated, and resilient learners and leaders.
