Yazmin brings 17 years of teaching experience, both in her native country of Colombia and here in the United States, in North Carolina and Nevada. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Teaching Foreign Languages from the National University of Colombia in South America and a Master of Arts in Teaching K-8 from Sierra Nevada University. She has taught Spanish in all elementary grades, middle school, and the college level. During these years of experience, she has been able to provide her students not only with the necessary skills in Spanish but also an appreciation of cultural diversity. In addition to teaching at Dawson, she also pursues her passion for graphic design.

The Alexander Dawson School

The Alexander Dawson School at Rainbow Mountain, an independent school located on 33-acres in the community of Summerlin, is Nevada’s first Stanford University Challenge Success partner school for students in early childhood through grade eight. Utilizing the unique Challenge Success framework, Dawson uses research-based strategies and programs that emphasize student academics, wellbeing, and a healthy school-life balance to create more engaged, motivated, and resilient learners and leaders.
