Cal Govang received his bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in mild to moderate special education from Kent State University. He worked at the Dawson College Bound program for three summers and enjoyed engaging middle schoolers through the design thinking process. After teaching second grade in Akron, Ohio, Cal traded in the cloudy midwest skies for the bright lights of Las Vegas. Upon arrival, Cal took a long-term substitute role at Dawson and became the Head Coach of Dawson’s first-ever baseball team. After a year teaching fourth grade, Cal has made the transition to health and fitness, where he loves all things sports and is eager to share his knowledge of teamwork and collaboration with his first through fourth-grade students.
