Dana is a veteran teacher in her 19th year at the Alexander Dawson School where she has had the pleasure of teaching various grade levels across the three divisions. She has three sons who are all Dawson alumni. Dana was born and raised in New Orleans and travels there frequently to visit family and friends. While in high school, Dana entered foreign language festivals, spent a summer in Quebec living in a seminary attending French classes, and spent a summer in Belgium with a host family where she was able to perfect her language skills. At Louisiana State University, Dana earned a degree in French and spent her junior year abroad in Angers, France. Before entering the field of education, she worked for 10 years in the hotel industry where she was able to travel and meet many interesting people. Dana attended the University of New Orleans and earned her teacher certification. In her spare time, Dana enjoys spending time with her family hiking, biking, reading, listening to music, cooking and traveling.

The Alexander Dawson School

The Alexander Dawson School at Rainbow Mountain, an independent school located on 33-acres in the community of Summerlin, is Nevada’s first Stanford University Challenge Success partner school for students in early childhood through grade eight. Utilizing the unique Challenge Success framework, Dawson uses research-based strategies and programs that emphasize student academics, wellbeing, and a healthy school-life balance to create more engaged, motivated, and resilient learners and leaders.
