Kelisha was born in Los Angeles, California and moved to Las Vegas with her family during her senior year of high school. After high school, she earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education and master’s degree in special education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas—Go, REBELS! For the past six years, Kelisha spent her career teaching fourth and fifth grades in Las Vegas public schools. Kelisha is a passionate educator who applies Dr. Robert J. Marzano’s 50 years of education and action research in her classroom. In her free time, she enjoys practicing yoga, eating at new restaurants, and finding more ways to laugh with her loved ones.

The Alexander Dawson School

The Alexander Dawson School at Rainbow Mountain, an independent school located on 33-acres in the community of Summerlin, is Nevada’s first Stanford University Challenge Success partner school for students in early childhood through grade eight. Utilizing the unique Challenge Success framework, Dawson uses research-based strategies and programs that emphasize student academics, wellbeing, and a healthy school-life balance to create more engaged, motivated, and resilient learners and leaders. At Dawson, students achieve their individual potential while savoring life and meeting the challenges of the world.
