Gina graduated from Instituto Anglo Español in Mexico City with a B.A. in Elementary Education in Spanish. In the second year of her university studies, she started her career as a preschool lead teacher in 1996. By 2006, she moved to Austin, Texas, where she had the fortune to work at a Charter Title I school as a Spanish teacher for grades PK-8. In 2014, Gina began working at an IB school in Austin, TX, The Magellan International School, where she earned certifications from the International Baccalaureate interdisciplinary PYP program. Gina moved to Las Vegas in the summer of 2017 and joined The Alexander Dawson school to teach Spanish in grades K-3 and early childhood after-care, and then as a Middle School Spanish teacher.

One of the things she loves to do the most is travel. Previously, Gina was able to work as a teacher counselor for Princess Cruises for almost 2 years where she was able to visit different countries such as Germany, all the Caribbean islands, Costa Rica, Panama, Canada, and Alaska. Gina's favorite things to do are spending time with her 3 dogs; 13-year-old flat-coated retriever Eclipse, 14-year-old Chicorgi Jay Jay, and her 4-year-old terrier mix Koko. She also enjoys doing yoga, and aerobic aqua classes, watching movies, and spending time with her life partner Brian.

The Alexander Dawson School

The Alexander Dawson School at Rainbow Mountain, an independent school located on 33-acres in the community of Summerlin, is Nevada’s first Stanford University Challenge Success partner school for students in early childhood through grade eight. Utilizing the unique Challenge Success framework, Dawson uses research-based strategies and programs that emphasize student academics, wellbeing, and a healthy school-life balance to create more engaged, motivated, and resilient learners and leaders.
