Our graduates are empowered changemakers equipped with the knowledge, skills, and experience to make a positive impact on their lives, schools, communities, and the world.

As versatile designers, they select the most effective technology tools for each task. Independent and optimistic, they excel at identifying and tackling problems, demonstrating resilience, curiosity, and enthusiasm. They adeptly use the iterative design process to see projects through to completion.

Our Philosophy

The Dawson Design Process

Dawson's Design Technology program prepares our students to use technology creatively, constructively, and purposefully. Learners use technology –computers, design programs, digital fabrication equipment, and other forms – to iterate solutions to real-world problems and gain a deeper understanding of what it takes to become agents of positive change.

K-8 Design Technology Overview

Our program is comprised of the Lower School Design Lab curriculum and the Middle School Design Tech electives. In grades K-4, every student learns the basics of design technology. In grades 5-8, students begin to specialize their tech choices and apply their learning in real-world ways.
