~~~~~~This year the Athletic Department, as always shares the school’s mission of being a nurturing, learning community that challenges students to achieve excellence in mind, body, and character.~The goals of the program are to:
· Develop sport-specific skills
· Develop knowledge of game strategies and rules
· Have the opportunity to work cooperatively towards team goals
· Develop a positive attitude towards teammates and opponents
· Promote sportsmanship on and off the court/field at all times
· Promote the concept of “nothing without labor”
· Encourage the development of leadership qualities
· Provide each athlete the opportunity to work toward a healthy lifestyle
The Dawson coaches will provide an atmosphere conducive to developing these goals and will do everything possible to create a positive experience for the team and each individual team member.~The Dawson Bears will be a source of pride for the entire school community.
The athletic program provides opportunities for students in grades Five through Eight.
Dawson as a member of the Red Rock Athletic Conference will compete against Faith Lutheran, Calvary Chapel, International Christian Academy, Mountain View Lutheran, The Meadows School, Hebrew Academy, Andre Agassi Prep Academy, Lamb of God, and Cornerstone Christian Academy.
This year the Athletic Department will be offering the following sports:
Flag Football 5th/6th – 7th/8th, Co-ed
Volleyball 5th/6th Co-ed – 7th/8th Girls only
Soccer 5th/6th – 7th/8th, Co-ed
Basketball 5th/6th – 7th/8th, Boys & Girls
Track and Field 5th/6th – 7th /8th Boys & Girl
Cheerleading 5th thru 8th
Club Team Tennis Grades 2nd thru 8th
New sports to be offered pending student interest and outside completion:
Boys Baseball
Girls Softball
