Dawson 6th Graders Hold GLO-MAR Business Expo

Dawson sixth-graders held the first-ever GLO-MAR Business Expo as part of the culminating project in the new Global Marketplace course. GLO-MAR is modeled as an entrepreneur "shark-tank" experience, where the students try to convince investors - in this instance, Dawson faculty, staff, and other students - to invest in their company.  Many ideas and concepts were presented - from a guitar that fits in your pocket to an organic food delivery service - and Global Marketplace students pitched their business plans to all potential investors.

Dawson's Global Marketplace course, part of the Middle School's Global Scholars Strand, is designed to provide practical information about the key aspects of the 21st century global economy, what makes world trade work, how trade affects students' daily lives.  This course also focuses on entrepreneurial and critical-thinking skills.
