It is the goal of the Fine Art Department at Dawson to help students discover their hidden talents and provide them with opportunities for self expression.
The visual and performing Fine Art Departments align themselves with the Dawson School’s Mission of teaching the whole child. All Early Childhood and Lower School students are exposed to Fine Arts through painting, woodworking, ceramics, drama, and music.
All fifth grade Middle School students are given an opportunity to choose between Beginning Band and Beginning Choir, along with more exploratory electives in a round-robin schedule every quarter.
Students in grades sixth through eighth are given the opportunity to choose all their electives, with the intent of pursuing a more focused and rigorous curriculum.
