Author-In-Residence Brian Falkner Presented Dawson's Sixth Grade with "Falkner Stars" Awards

Dawson's sixth graders had the privilege of working with award-winning young adult author Brian Falkner. As part of Dawson's Author-in-Residence program, Brian worked with our students on the craft of writing and storytelling. Their week of intensive writing instruction concluded with "Falkner Stars," a fun and interactive awards ceremony for the entire sixth-grade class to acknowledge their writing efforts.  Several awards were given out such as “Ickiest Line,” “Best Suspense,” and “Best Editing,” among others.

This is the eighth consecutive year that Brian has visited Dawson from his home in Australia.  The Author-in-Residence program is supported by the Dawson First Fund.
